POLITICAL SIGNS: It is an election year and many homeowners in the Clusters have posted political signs on their property. Please be advised that our CC&Rs do not prohibit political signs or limit their duration. Political signs on public property and in highway right-of-way are regulated by state law, but those laws do not apply to signage on private property. Our CC&Rs do not regulate flags of any kind, but do prohibit signs from being painted on or attached to a structure without prior approval of the FCHOA through the Architectural Control Committee.
State law does allow HOA’s to limit the total surface area of visible political signs to 9 square feet, which is approximately 2-3 normal size yard signs. While the FCHOA has not adopted that size restriction, it is one that we hope that our residents will acknowledge and abide by. If you do have any concerns about political signage in the Clusters, please contact your neighbor. If necessary, you may send your concern, with photos and the address, to CCR.chair@foothillsclusters.com.
